Today Eli and I visited the Pittsburgh Children's Museum for the first time. I never really gave going much thought as he is still under two and limited to easier activities. Then a great local mommy group suggested the Tot Time program and we decided we had to see what the buzz was all about. Well, of course I packed up the camera and a few snacks, and we were off! Today's theme was polar bears and we spent a wonderful hour full of stories, songs and BUBBLES!! What toddler wouldn't go nuts? There were so many activities to do and new places to explore...but Eli was not much for independence. (We have all been there, can you say clingy toddler?) So, I realized early on that pulling out the big girl camera was just not feasible without an extra set of hands.
Using the iPhone made our late morning outing so much more relaxed! I was not focused on my camera and making sure it was safe when not in use, allowing me to actually participate in play with him-while freezing some memories along the way. The best part is...I do not regret it!! I left with my heart full and my toddler happy. Oh, and a few images to look back on!
Often times I get so caught up in "all images must be wall worthy all the time" and sometimes scrapbook worthy is more than enough!
Do not be afraid to leave the camera at home and give the ol' camera phone a task :)
